Issues List

All known issues are listed here. Please either comment or email me your problem in great detail and I will add it to this page.

Things to include, firmware revision, hardware revision and all other previous firmware revisions that demonstrated this current issue.

I will start a poll once I have a good list. If the problem gets a lot of complaints then I will start a page of its own and show all logs etc. on it.

List

  1. Router locks up every 48 hours or so.
  2. Wireless continual restarts. (eg 50 times within 1/2 an hour).
  3. Wireless power out drops when 5gHz channel is enabled.
  4. Poor through put and weak signal especially for a router with 3 antennas.
  5. Dynamic DNS feature disables itself.
  6. SSL server has issues being accessed from the WAN with certain proxy servers.
  7. Daylight savings cannot be set for the Southern Hemisphere.
  8. Local LAN access is problematic.
  9. Shareport detects but doesnt connect
  10. 2 GHz wireless clients will not reliably appear if the 5 GHz radio has been disabled. (1.21)

  13. WOL over the WAN/Internet doesn’t work and requires a long winded work around to get it to work.
  14. .. Please help populate this list ..

More to come.

Other DLink products that are experiencing some of the issues list above include:

  • DIR-825
  • DIR-655
  • DIR-628
  • DGL-4500
  • DAP-1522

This is most likely due to an inherent issue common to all firmware releases of that platform.

Hi there, I assume you are showing an entry in your log and that you are having trouble on your 5ghz radio.

Are you able to give more details about your problem

      Hi John;

While I am waiting for you to respond to my first question, I had a thought about the error you posted. Failing to initialise on the 5ghz channel may actually be a hardware issue with the 5ghz mini-PCI card on the router. Is the router still under warranty?

I’m trying to figure out why the router ceases to pass traffic to the WAN but still allows access to the LAN. I can access all of the other clients on my network including my Window’s Home Server but not the net including the web interface of the router. This is true from any client on my network. So I am unable to reboot the router and I am forced to physically unplug the power to it.

Yes, I see the DIR-855 Blog now appears in my dashboard. I will report my findings as things develop.

    - inability to reach web interface following a “lock up”.

    - following a lock up, local clients can be accessed but not the net.

    - must power cycle every 48 hours or so to regain full functionality.

    - poor through put and weak signal especially for a router with 3 antennas.
