    hello,
i am in need of some technical support and dlink wants to charge me for their time. i got my hands on a free dlink dir 655-router harware ver. a2. when i got it i plugged it into my modem and set up my username and password for my PPoE DSL connection. it worked great. then i made the mistake of noticing my firmware was out of date.
i went to the dlink website and downloaded 1.35na and put it on there without saving my configuration. big mistake becuase my router wont establish a connection over my PPoE. so i then read about downgrading my router firmware on this website and just grabbed any random firmware that said it would downgrade. mistake number 2. i never saved configuration after i got 1.35na on there. mistake #3
Now i have 1.34ww and it wont connect to my PPoE. i am running a DD-WRT lynksys router which i set up with no problems over my PPoE network. i just thought the wireless N would be nice for my new xbox.
for those that do help me out the kindness of their hearts please speak simply and try to copy the links to your reply so i can just click to anything instead of trying to search for it myself. in case you havent figured it out by now i am kinda slow. thank you to anyone in advance for helping me. i know you dont have to and am grateful for any useful suggestions.
