Hi,

What's the difference between the following two ? I'm looking for the one with 5GHz support.

tomato-E4200USB-NVRAM60K-1.28.RT5x-MIPSR2-084V-PL-AIO.bin
tomato-E4200USB-NVRAM60K-1.28.RT-N5x-MIPSR2-083V-AIO.bin

Also, did you try Victek's firmware for E4200 ?

Regards

If you look through my posts, you will see plenty of talk about open soured firmware, the biggest issue is that you don't get cut through routing on them and 5 ghz three stream routing, Dd-wrt give you three stream on 5 gh but up until build 18024, DDNS was not working. I gave this new build a go a few days ago and found the 5 ghz performance lacking compared with stock and so went back.

Since you got so many firmwares on this page, you must know that if you want more options in settings on your E4200 ther is Tomato and DD-wrt firmware.

The DD-wrt even supports the 5 Ghz,

I´ve also bought a E4200 and got the Tomato in mine. I´m sooooooo happy right now ;-)

1.23b08 is available on ftp://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/DIR-855/Firmware.

DIR-855 Firmware Release Note
Firmware: v1.23 WWB08Beta02,
Date:Dec 06 2011
Checksum: 0x042A52E8
Problems Resolved:
1. Fix IGMP packets problem : WAN will see LAN IP multicast packet

Still no ipv6 or 6rd support, I think it's a real shame. I've been using D-link for years now, told several friends/family members to buy D-link and they did. But my next router will be a Linksys if they do not launch decent ipv6/6rd support for a top model.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, on holidays and Internet is a luxury here.

You will not be able to connect at 450mbps with that router, the wireless cards in the router do not support it. You will have to upgrade your router, hence why I upgraded to the Linksys E4200.
